Potts 22 points Gives MT Best Start in Program History

Middle Tennessee’s Giddy Potts dropped 22 points in a 69-59 win against UTSA. Potts 22 points pushes him over the 1,000 career point mark and gives the Red Raiders their best start in school history.

Middle Tennessee (20-3, 10-0) remains undefeated in the Conference USA with the win over the Red Raiders (9-13, 4-5).

"UTSA has a group of really tough guys who were excited to play and we just came out kind of casual tonight," head coach Kermit Davis said.

JaCorey Williams, Reggie Upshaw, and Antoine Johnson all finished the game in double figures along with Potts. Williams dropped 17 points; Upshaw added 11 points and Johnson finished with 10 points.

Middle Tennessee won the game with hard nose defense as usual. The Red Raiders are ranked 29th nationally in points allowed by the opponent, holding their opponents to an average 64 points per game.
